MARKETING INTERNSHIP UNIT MKX3631

THE UNIT THAT MEANS BUSINESS (LITERALLY)

With the Marketing Internship unit (MKX3631), you can get your career off to the start it deserves. And it’s all headed up by my friend, Practice Lecturer and Unit Coordinator, Jane Carroll!

CLASS IS IN SESSION

In the Marketing Internship unit, you’ll deep dive into workplace professionalism and marketing practice.

But this unit isn’t just about learning, it’s about doing. You’ll:

  • Master workplace professionalism (yes, showing up – early – matters).
  • Uncover your superpowers – aka your unique skills and talents.
  • Build a killer network that’ll help you climb your career ladder.
  • Get job-ready for the real world – because let’s face it, your degree alone won’t cut it.

Above all, you’ll leave this unit more prepared to start your career than when you entered. Guaranteed.

YOUR MARKETING INTERNSHIP JOURNEY

DISCOVER YOUR OPTIONS

Already know where you want to go? Great – you have the freedom to find your own internship.

Unsure where to start? No problem, Monash can hook you up with a host organisation.

And if you’re feeling totally lost, don’t panic. We’ve got guidance modules and mentors on tap to help you figure out where you fit.

PROVE YOUR WORTH

Once you’re in the internship, it’s game time. You’ll be:

  • Working on real projects – like campaigns that could actually hit the market.
  • Collaborating with pros – from clients to managers and beyond.
  • Flexing your marketing know-how and showing the world (or at least your host organisation) that you’re the real deal.

REAP THE REWARDS

Put in the hard work and show initiative and you’ll be fine.

During your internship, you’ll acquire new skills, build your network, clarify your career goals – and gain insights into what employers are seeking in marketing graduates.

Gosh, we spoil you.

KICKSTART YOUR CAREER

At the end of your internship, run – don’t walk – to your resume and LinkedIn profile to add your shiny new skills and experience.

After you’ve finished pumping yourself up, take some time to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.

Because who knows? Your host organisation might even ask you to return as a permanent employee!

THE FINE PRINT – ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?

Alright, alright. Let’s not get too excited. Before you apply, make sure you tick all the boxes. You must:

  • Have at least a credit average
  • Be in your final year of study (although exceptions may apply)
  • Be available to complete 15-20 days of work (time to clear the schedule – sorry, grandma)
